Built in 1910 at Bodewes shipyard, Martenshoek, Netherlands, Leão Holandês is a three-masted iron schooner of 32.12 metres — one of the last working tall ships of her era still sailing. She was forged for the rigours of the North Sea and Baltic trade routes at the height of European maritime commerce.
Over more than a century she carried nine names, served under multiple flags, and crossed every major ocean — including a full circumnavigation of the globe. She is not a replica. She has simply endured.
Since 1989 she has sailed Portuguese waters, becoming part of Lisbon's maritime identity. She departs exclusively from Marina de Cascais — one of Europe's most prestigious nautical addresses.
